Founding Wi-Tronix
In February 2005, Lawrence Jordan and Michael Heilmann, with over 20 years experience
in product development and technical marketing with GM Electro-Motive, co-founded Wi-Tronix.
Wi-Tronix immediately began integrating the latest technologies to improve railroad reliability,
safety, and efficiency launching two core products: Wi-Tracker (enhanced GPS tracking) and
Wi-DownloadER (wireless data recorder download). That same year Wi-Tronix deployed its solutions
on BNSF and Florida East Coast railroads proving that the system is scalable for both Class I and
Regional railroad customers.

In March 2005, Duane Hong joined Wi-Tronix as Vice President of Customer Service and Operations
with over 9 years of experience in integrated electronics systems on today's most advanced
diesel-electric locomotives.
Lisa Matta joined the Wi-Tronix team in April 2005 as Vice President of Product Development.
Lisa adds over 7 years of experience with integrated locomotive electronics, including locomotive
electronic air brake and locomotive security solutions.
In February 2007, Wi-Tronix welcomed Fred Cozzi as Vice President of Sales. Fred has over 8
years of rail industry sales and management experience.
Wi-Tronix will announce the arrival of new members to our Product Development team in 2008.
Planning for Growth
In December of 2006, Wi-Tronix relocated to a new office and manufacturing facility conveniently located
in Bolingbrook, IL and easily accessible from Chicago’s two major airports. Wi-Tronix is expanding both
its manufacturing and product development activities to bring further value to our customers.
Serving Our Customers
Wi-Tronix continues to develop new and innovative mobile asset management solutions based on our rapidly
growing customer base. Wi-Tronix technology is currently being deployed on over 3,000 mobile assets across
North American railroads (Class I, Regional and Short Line). Wi-Tronix systems are in revenue service on
the newest EMD SD70M-2 and GE ES44DC locomotives as well as older locomotives with over 4 decades of
service. Wi-Tronix also continues its expansion into the mining industry.
In 2007, Wi-Tronix was selected as CN’s preferred remote monitoring solutions provider. CN is deploying Wi-Tronix
systems on all its new EMD and GE locomotives including 85 locomotives delivered in 2007. Wi-Tronix is providing
CN a full service turn-key solution that includes onboard hardware, installation service and ongoing hosting and
system maintenance.
Since March of 2006, Wi-Tronix has been providing the Federal Railroad Administration’s (FRA) Office of Research and
Development with its Wi-Tracker and Wi-DownloadER solutions along with systems engineering and software development
services. Wi-Tronix supports the FRA’s implementation of advanced train technologies to improve crew safety,
